Gains without battle
Muslims can take booties left by enemies who ran away in fear of Muslim army. They are called “Fay”; they could be given to the poor or the ruler decides how they will be used in the best interest of the community.
Captives of war
Muslims must treat soldiers taken as prisoners of war with kindness. After that they may get their freedom, pay ransom or to be exchanged with other prisoners. Those who committed crimes against Islam are killed.
Islam permitted war when it is the only way for peace. During the fight only those who are actively fighting are killed and it is forbidden to kill women, children and elderly. Other war rules are discussed below.
Distortion of jihad
The image of Islam and specially the meaning of Jihad have been distorted by two sides. The first is Islam enemies, but the second are the groups of Muslim extremists who give their actions a false Islamic guise.
In Islam Jihad is all efforts one exerts in advocacy of Islam and its society. The highest level of Jihad is fighting the enemy but God has only permitted it for three reasons. They also have to observe Islam morals.
The pilgrimage days
Pilgrimage starts by the pilgrim taking a bath, declaring his intention to do pilgrimage, entering in a state of consecration and starting his journey to Mina by midday. This article explains all steps in details.
Zakat al- fitr is due after the month of Ramadan is over. Each Muslim must pay it on his behalf and for those whom he is duty bound to support. How it is paid, to whom, the amount and the time are all explained below.
Zakat due on loans
Zakat due on loans differs according to the state of the borrower. If his is not able to pay; then the lender has to pay it just for one year. But in case he can repay it, the lender has to pay zakat for all the period.
Conditions of Zakat
Zakat is due on Muslims only but some conditions are to be applied such as; being free, owning more than person’s need from money food and clothes, and in some cases the turn of a full lunar year on a person’s property.
A compensation is due if a person commits an offence during Pilgrimage like cutting hair or wearing tailored clothes. Sexual intercourse before the first release from consecration renders Pilgrimage invalid.
The Sacrifice and its Rulings
Sacrifice or Hady is slaughtering animals to earn God’s reward as a part of Pilgrimage. There are five types; some are compulsory others are voluntary or recommended. Time and place for sacrifice depend on its type.

If the stoning is delayed
If the stoning is delayed, the pilgrim should go for the 3 jamrahs to stone in order for 3 successive days in order to finish his pilgrimage duties and proceed to do Farwell Tawaf if he is not a Makkah resident.
How to conduct the pilgrimage
Pilgrimage has 3 different methods; the tamattu', the qiran and the ifrad. Before, the pilgrim should start his consecration, at the point of miqat and declares his intention according to the method he chose.
Compensation is an obligation on pilgrim if he violates any of pilgrimage restrictions. Compensation is due whether the violation was for a valid on invalid reason. It may be a sacrifice, donation or fasting.
Practices prohibited during consecration (i.e. ihram)
During consecration some Halal practices are prohibited, such as wearing perfumes, clipping hair or nails etc. If anything is done out of ignorance or forgetfulness it would be overlooked and one must revert.
Conditions for Pilgrimage
Pilgrimage is obligatory for every sane, adult, free, able (physically and financially) Muslim. It consists of 7 practices necessary to be done and 7 duties to complete the process and 9 recommended practices.
The Pilgrimage (i.e. hajj)
Pilgrimage is one of the five pillars upon which the structure of Islam is built on. Its steps are clearly mentioned in Quran and it must fulfill certain rites in particular places and times in order to be complete.
The transfer of zakat to a different town
Zakat is payable for the poor and needy wherever they are. It is permissible to transfer zakat to another town. It is also encouraged to pay it to poor relatives as it gives one the advantage of kindness to relatives.
Zakat may not be given to
Zakat isn't a must in 6 classes of people; those who can earn their living, offspring, wives, ancestors, unbelievers, prophet's descendants, and slaves. It isn't necessary to satisfy the 8 zakat deservers.
